‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has told Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to take the money and leave Genoa City. Go be alone somewhere, and rich, and while at first it looked like Ashland might actually do it, he hesitated for a moment after grabbing his bag.
Is this just a momentary lapse or is he seriously considering staying? Everyone has been trying to get rid of Ashland for months, and now that it looks like he may actually do it, he’s doubting himself and it’s obviously because of Harrison Locke and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Viewers reacted to this moment saying, “Don’t think so!! We might be on the verge of seeing Ashland becoming the new Victor Newman with Victoria as his Nikki Newman!! No wonder this guy is always one step ahead of his enemies and he battling the Abbott!! Remember Victor was older than Nikki when they married that why the writers had Victoria fall in love with him plus Robert Newman is a good veteran soap actor making him the perfect replacement for Victor Newman!!!”, “I have a feeling that Young and the Restless is looking for the future without Eric Braeden as Victor Newman and is setting up a replacement!!” and “He was greasy, but I’m torn on ripping him from his life. He was the only father he knew for the first years of his life.”
It’s very possible that the writers are thinking ahead for when Eric Braeden retires and someone to fill that void. Perhaps they’re putting all their chips on Ashland and that’s why they’re trying so hard to keep him in Genoa City.
