‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers pose the question: Will Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) expose or hide Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) secret painkiller addiction?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Adam May Soon Figure Out Nick Is Hiding Something
Adam may face some difficult decisions in the coming Y&R episodes. Y&R fans know that Adam and Nick are currently in Las Vegas trying to find Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).
Adam is smart and perceptive. He may figure out that Nick is hiding something. He may even see his brother sneaking pills on the sly and confront him about it.

For a long time, Nick and Adam couldn’t stand each other, but Adam has proven his loyalty to the Newman family time and time again.
Since then, Nick and Adam have grown closer. So, what happens if Adam spies Nick popping painkillers? Will he run to the rest of the family and rat him out?
It’s entirely possible that Adam could agree not to, if Nick swears him to secrecy. On the other hand, Adam could decide that it’s in Nick’s interest to seek help.
We can see him confiding in Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) about Nick’s addiction. Adam and Sharon share a history and are close.
Adam may think that if anyone can get through to Nick, it’s Sharon. Y&R spoilers indicate that on March 27th, Adam will see another side to Nick that will surprise him.
We have to wonder if that “other side” has something to do with Nick getting drunk and popping pills. Nick could also spiral due to his fentanyl addiction.
Fentanyl is a very dangerous drug, and Nick may even overdose, prompting Adam to take swift action. Obviously, most of the addicts’ stories don’t usually end well.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: The Newman Family Should Stage an Intervention for Nick
Knowing Nick, he’ll insist that he can handle the pills, or maybe he’ll swear to Adam that he’ll stop as soon as they find Matt.
However, even if Adam agrees to keep his mouth shut, Nick may not be able to keep his promise once they get back to Genoa City, as long as Nick quits these drugs.
After all, fentanyl is extremely powerful, and most addicts can’t simply stop without undergoing serious treatment in a rehab facility.
If Adam does tell Sharon about Nick’s popping pills, she may even go to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) for help. Everyone knows that Nikki has conquered her own demons.
She’s a recovering alcoholic and understands better than anyone that alcoholism and addiction are formidable beasts that are extremely hard to beat, and many people have died trying. Nikki herself has fallen off the wagon on several occasions.
That is especially true if they attempt to fix the problem themselves. Who knows? Perhaps Nick even inherited the addiction gene from his mother. Nikki may prompt her son to go to rehab.
We can also imagine Nikki, Victor Newman (Eric Braden), Sharon, Adam, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), and Sienna Bacall (Tamra Braun) staging an intervention to persuade Nick to get the help he needs.
If and when Nick is confronted by his loved ones, he may finally realize he can’t beat this on his own. Like Nikki, he has an addiction. Adam may help his brother face the facts sooner rather than later.
