‘The Young and The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers imply that Victor Newman (Eric Braden) has a hidden motive for wanting to break up Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Warned Claire Away From Kyle
Victor recently told Claire that he wanted her to stay away from Kyle. When Victor discovered that Kyle broke dinner plans with Claire so that he and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) could work on a school project with Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell), you could almost see the wheels turning in the Mustache’s head.
At first glance, Victor seems selective about which granddaughter he approves of being with Kyle. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) even asked if Kyle wasn’t good enough for Claire and why he was suitable for Summer.
Victor responded by saying the two of them would permanently be bonded by Harrison. In his mind, parents should stay together for the children.
In fact, during a conversation with Summer, Victor almost encouraged her to spend time with Kyle. Harrison loves Claire, but he would rather see his parents reunite so they can be a family again.
Harrison told Kyle and Summer that he loves family time with them. They agreed that anytime Harrison wanted to spend time with them both, all he had to do was ask. Seeing them sharing a pizza and bonding as a family was sweet.
If Victor learns that Harrison wants to bring his parents together again, he’ll no doubt help the young boy with this complicated, grown-up situation. It’s obvious there will be obstacles that threaten to keep Claire and Kyle apart.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: In Victor’s Mind, Kyle, Summer And Harrison Should Be A Family
Summer appears genuinely hurt to see Claire get so close to Harrison, and it’s obvious she harbors some jealousy toward Claire because of it.
Summer also has a nasty habit of interfering in Kyle’s relationships. She always claims to be over him, but she creeps back into his orbit when he becomes romantically involved with someone else. But it’s unsurprising, considering her mother is Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford).
Claire thinks she must persuade her grandfather that she and Kyle are the perfect match and it will be “easy peasy.” Claire desperately wants her grandfather’s support and approval.
However, Victor has strong beliefs about the importance of family. He may help Summer work toward a reunion with Kyle for Harrison’s sake, especially if it means Kyle isn’t with Claire.
Victor’s issues with Kyle being an Abbott make it unacceptable for Claire to be with him, but that same rule doesn’t apply to Summer because of Harrison.
Let’s not forget that Victor welcomed Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) into the Newman Ranch because he wants Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Chelsea, and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to be a family again.
Victor could also favor a reunion between Kyle and Summer to keep Kyle away from Claire. Then again, it’s possible he also sees that Summer still has feelings for Kyle and may think their connection due to Harrison is worth her fighting for.
