‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) isn’t what he used to be. When he was introduced on the show, he was known as the “Lochness Monster”, a complete savage and someone who would do anything just to get what he wanted.
This drove his own wife crazy, and when they came back to Genoa City, it was complete chaos for a few months. Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) history with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) came back up, and we discovered Kyle had a child, Harrison. Meanwhile, Summer Newman (Hunter King) was being pushed out of Genoa City by Tara and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Ashland was a force to be reckoned with.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: What Happened To The “Monster” Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi)?
Now, just a few short months later, he’s a shell of his former self and has completely lost any danger or sense of evil that he originally had. What was once a fascinating and exciting character has become second fiddle to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and acts more like a trained lap-dog than a vicious business monster.
With things starting to get to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and bringing in Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) for a “legal battle”, could we finally see the beast inside come back out, or will Ashland let his wife take care of everything yet again?
Ashland was once a terrifying and tough character, just ask Summer and Kyle, but now he’s been reduced to a background character with no bite. Whenever the show gets someone who could step toe to toe with the legacy actors like Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), they sure get rid of them quickly.
