‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that we already knew that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was going to ask Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) about shared custody of Dominic in a preview, however, we may have just found out what made him even consider it.
While Devon has been enjoying his time with Dominic, he seemed to know his place, even if he was having feelings. However, he may have been pushed over the edge by his cousin, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) who came over to talk to him about it.

Nate could see that it was bothering Devon and even pointed out the footprints of Dominic’s in Devon’s living room. It was Nate who pushed him to go talk to Abby and Connor, stating that if Abby loved her son, she would do anything to make sure he was loved even more. Including shared custody? I guess?
The entire storyline is a joke but the fact that Nate comes over to Devon’s once and tells him to go after it and that Abby will be fine with it is ignorant and ridiculous. We’ve been through this, and Devon has no rights over Dominic. He signed those away. So what does he hope to achieve and does he really think Abby and Connor will say yes?
Assuming they say no to this, what is this going to do to Devon? Could he lose his marbles and go a little crazy about the situation or will he take it in stride and eventually move on as Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) seems to have done?
