‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that the secrets behind Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) mysterious illness are starting to come to light. While for months many viewers have speculated that he was faking it, he really seemed to be in it for the long con.

Turns out, this is what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wanted to recruit Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) for, and as he’s beginning to dig deeper, he’s realizing that everything is not as it seems. The lawyer, now working exclusively for Victor, found out that there were certain things that didn’t add up with his hospital visits and treatments.

This, along with his attitude with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) lately seems to point toward him lying about his illness and getting better, and instead, using it as a crutch and a way to get into the Newman family and tear it apart from the inside.

He may have overplayed his hand already though, as now he even has Victoria doubting him and his actions lately. Between Victoria and Victor, things may come unraveled for Ashland a little quicker than he thought. Even more, coupling this with the news that Richard Burgi will not be staying in the role and another person will be stepping in could mean a way to close out the character.

While he may have stuck around longer, they could bring in the new actor as a way to simply close out the character‘s storyline and send him away. It’ll be interesting to see what happens, but I think we all know this will be coming to an end soon.
