‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there is some fan speculation that the most unlikely person in Genoa City may turn out to be a donor match for Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore).

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Malcolm Is Quickly Running Out of Options

Malcolm, who is suffering from aplastic anemia, is quickly running out of options. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is not only a poor option for Malcolm, given that she’s had cancer, but also not a match.

Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) had feared that Malcolm wouldn’t find a donor in time, which is why she finally came clean to her son, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), that his biological father was Malcolm.

Both Holden and Malcolm were understandably shocked. They are still trying to process the truth and what their new normal as father and son will look like.

Of course, Holden was very willing to donate bone marrow to Malcolm once he learned that his father was ill. He spoke with his crush, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), about it and shared his feelings about learning this secret after all these years.

Plus, Holden must now navigate these new family relationships. Lily hasn’t exactly extended Holden a warm welcome into the Winters clan. She’s not too thrilled he’s her brother, especially since Holden works for Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), whom Lily sees as the big bad wolf.

Despite his eagerness to get tested, Malcolm’s “suddenly son”, Holden, is not a match for him. Right now, Malcolm and Lily are off in Los Angeles, meeting with Lily and Cane’s kids to see if they may be bone marrow matches.

It looks like Malcolm is running out of time. The sooner he finds a match, the better the potential outcome for his illness.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Would Be Willing to Do Whatever It Takes to Win Back Lily’s Heart

Some Y&R fans on social media have suggested that perhaps Lily’s own ex-husband could come riding on his white horse to save the day for Lily and her family.

Since we know Cane’s greatest wish is to reunite with Lily and the twins, we have to wonder if he’ll turn out to be a match for Malcolm.

Malcolm recently had some words with Cane, making it clear he’s not a fan of Lily’s former spouse. However, that may give Cane even more incentive to prove he’s really a good guy, worthy of Lily’s love and affection.

It would be very ironic if Cane were a match. Cane desperately wants redemption. If he saves Malcolm’s life, that would be the perfect way for him to achieve that goal.

Of course, it’s also a chance to save the life of the father of the woman he loves. Cane remains determined to reunite with Lily.

He’d be willing to do whatever it takes to win back the love of his life. However, would Cane being a match and donating his bone marrow to Malcolm really change her mind?

Lily has been very adamant about not getting back together with Cane. She doesn’t trust him after the whole Aristotle Dumas debacle.

Only time will tell if Cane and Lily truly belong together. However, given Lily’s stubborn personality, not even saving her father’s life may be enough for her to forgive Cane.
