The fans are divided over this. Tessa and Mariah were the only LGBTQ+ couple on the show. The couple married and adopted a little girl named Aria.
Tessa and Mariah have a history together, and some fans think they should be together. The pair have been through a lot and have supported each other over the years.
However, Mariah pushed Tessa away and has refused to tell her what happened on the fateful business trip that caused her to isolate herself from everyone who loves her.
Mariah and Tessa’s separation has sparked significant conflict among several characters. As of now, Tessa is divorcing Mariah.
The prolonged separation between them and Mariah’s refusal to communicate with Tessa led to her filing for divorce. Since all this started, Mariah hasn’t explained any of her troubling actions to her wife.
Mariah had a severe mental breakdown and ended up in a mental hospital to get help, but abruptly checked herself out without telling anyone.
She stayed at a hotel, where she saw visions of Ian Ward (Ray Wise). Because of that, she kidnapped Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Winters’s (Bryton James) son, Dominic (Ethan Ray Clark).
Thankfully, they were found, and Dominic is back with his parents, where he belongs. Mariah seems too far gone to have any sustaining relationship at this point.
However, Tessa has become romantically involved with Daniel. The two of them have shared some passionate nights.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Tessa Has Fallen Hard for Daniel and Has Moved On
They started as two friends playing guitar, and then their slow-burning friendship grew as they became closer, giving Tessa someone she could depend on.
The two of them formed a strong bond, as Daniel has been there for Tessa in a way Mariah can’t right now.
In my opinion, Tessa should explore her feelings for Daniel and cut Mariah loose, at least for the time being. Tessa and Daniel have some great chemistry, and it’s obvious they truly care for each other.
Many fans are rooting for this couple to go the distance, as Tessa deserves some happiness after Mariah’s disappearing act.
Plus, Daniel is a good, stable person and can be a positive figure in Aria’s life, since Mariah will likely either face prison time or need to go to a mental health facility.
That said, some fans are very upset that the only gay couple on the show has been torn apart and therefore, there is no longer LGBTQ + representation on the soap.
It’s insulting to the gay community that Y&R has literally no gay characters left. Tessa is with Daniel now, and some fans are livid over the pairing.
However, it was Mariah’s behavior that pushed Tessa away. There is no way back for Mariah and Tessa, as Mariah can’t let go of whatever happened.
Later on, they can try again if it doesn’t work out with Daniel. For now, Daniel and Tessa are an adorable couple who deserve their own chance at love.
