‘The Talk’ may have faced a revolving door of co-hosts in 2021, but CBS just ensured that Sheryl Underwood will be sticking around for a while yet.
Underwood has signed a multi-year deal with the daytime talk show, currently in it’s 12th season. The co-host, who has appeared on the chat show since 2011 when the show was in its second season, has pledged to stay through Season 15.
CBS CEO George Cheeks made the announcement and added, “Sheryl has been critical to ‘The Talk’s’ success for more than a decade and we’re excited that she will be part of the conversation for several years to come.”
If signing on to the popular CBS staple for another three seasons of the wasn’t enough, Underwood has also entered into a new two-year “first-look” deal with CBS Studios.

Explaining the expansion of her relationship with the network, the stand-up comedienne turned host said, “I want to be able to create content — not just for me to star in, but for other people to get the same opportunity and go on the same journey, especially women and stand-up comics.”
Underwood’s future plans include developing content for both CBS and the Paramount Plus streaming service.
“I want to be like Chris Rock, Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey,” she divulged. “I want to be able to develop music competition shows; we don’t have that yet. I want to be able to develop a game show; we don’t have it yet. I want to be able to develop dramas and situation comedies. It doesn’t mean I have to star in them, but I would like a good cameo.”
She did add, however, that her priority is her daytime gig.
“The Talk will forever be my home; I have no intentions of going anywhere, but while I have this platform and while I have access to the audience, I want to be as integral in the success of the corporation of CBS as I possibly can.”
The Talk seemed to be in serious jeopardy last year after the knockout, blow out on-air argument between Underwood and ex co-host Sharon Osbourne. After Mrs. O. was fired, the other hosts began dropping like flies with Carrie Ann Inaba and Elaine Welteroth dipping out shortly after.
However, in 2022 the show has begun to find its footing with Underwood and Amanda Kloots being joined by NBC ship-jumper, Natalie Morales and, for the first time ever, two permanent male hosts, Jerry O’Connell and Akbar Gbajabiamila.
