Fans of the Duggars were excited to see that Jed and Katey Duggar are expecting a baby. They made the announcement with Jed’s family, but they also took time to announce it on social media. They made quite a stir when they posted the announcement and many of their fans think it was in very poor taste.
‘The Duggars’: The Instagram Announcement
When Jed Duggar posted his announcement on Monday about the baby, he received a lot of backlash. The picture that they posted was them kissing and holding a sign that read, “And then there were 3. Baby Duggar. Spring ’22.” He captioned the photo, “She tested positive, but not for Covid.” Most of their fans were very happy for them, but there were plenty to start in on the horrible joke being made.
There were a few fans who went in about how they haven’t even been married that long and she is already having a baby. One fan wrote, “So sad. Y’all can’t even enjoy being married before she has to pop out a babe? Y’all have probably known each other 8 months tops.” More and more fans started in on how they didn’t wait long at all and some even asked if it was a honeymoon baby.
The couple hasn’t been married very long and it seems that one thing that the Duggars love to do is make babies! There were fans of the couple that just didn’t understand why he used the caption that he did. One fan called them out for being so insensitive about the fact that he brought up Covid. They wrote, “Arkansas is facing some of the worst with Covid right now due to low vaccination rates. 656,000 American have died from Covid since the virus hit 18 months ago.”
The comments kept coming too. One fan added, “Having 2 family members pass from COVID, I find this very tasteless and insensitive. I hate this. It’s so tacky and distasteful. People are dying.” Another wrote, “These two are tone deaf and this is not funny or cute. You probably don’t believe it’s an issue and probably aren’t even vaccinated.”
