h‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers find that Forrester patriarch, Eric Forrester has been portrayed by soap legend John McCook since the soap’s inception in 1987. However, that doesn’t mean McCook doesn’t like to branch out every now and then.

The Food Network isn’t exactly known for its Christmas movies, but come this holiday season that will change when John teams up with his daughter, Molly McCook in ‘Candy Coated Christmas’.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Star John McCook to Star in a Christmas Movie with His Real Life Daughter, Molly

The made-for-TV holiday movie stars Molly as a woman named Molly (a method actor, perhaps?) a Los Angeles-based marketing executive who discovers the seed money for her new business venture has disappeared.

Molly’s widowed father who, in another not-so-big-a-stretch-of-the-imagination, is played by Molly’s father- John, suggests she visit her late mother’s small hometown, where the old family home might just be the key to obtaining the start-up funds she needs.

Immediately upon arriving in Peppermint Hollow, Molly befriends a bakery owner, Bee who is played by Ree Drummond, better known as The Food Network’s Pioneer Woman. In her first scripted acting role, which was written specifically for the cooking show host, Ree as Bee introduces Molly (as Molly) to the friendly Peppermint Hollow townsfolk.

Invited by the family currently renting her mom’s childhood home, Molly connects with her own childhood memories and the idea for a newly “minted” business is sparked.

The McCooks filmed Candy Coated Christmas in Utah in August but the holiday film isn’t the first time the McCooks have shared the small screen together. Eleven years ago Molly was cast as Margot, a high school friend, of Hope Logan (then portrayed by Kim Matula) on John’s soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. Molly appeared in five episodes and has since appeared in several television series including Good Trouble and Last Man Standing.

Candy Coated Christmas will debut in November on the streaming service, Discovery+.
