The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Brooke Logan Oversteps Boundaries – Much More Evil Than Thomas Forrester?

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers finds that as we all know, recently, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) drew up adoption papers to have Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) sign away any and all parental rights to little Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), in order to have her own daughter, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and her husband Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) adopt him. Now, it can be argued that Brooke had the best of intentions at heart. She just wanted to give little Douglas a stable home environment where he wouldn’t develop trust issues, but it could also be argued that she was overstepping her boundaries by a country mile.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Thomas had some scary moments

We’ve all seen Thomas lose it on poor little Douglas, and yes his anger at Douglas was completely unwarranted but no parent is perfect. If anyone has been a parent then they’ve all had moments that they weren’t proud of, perhaps even scary moments that almost reached the level of Thomas’s anger, but having a moment that you’re not proud of coupled with an accident that means you can’t chase a four year old around doesn’t necessarily mean that you should get your child taken away from you.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: No parent is perfect

Is Thomas the model Dad? No. Not by a long shot. But is he the actual monster that Brooke makes him out to be? Let’s look at the evidence. Has he used Thomas’s special bond with Hope as a weapon? Yes. But he used it in a way that was more damaging to Hope than it was Douglas. Some might argue that damage is still damage and that is true, but to Thomas’s credit, he did not do anything that would have provided lasting damage to his son.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Isolated incidents do not a bad parent make

Now, if there had been more than one incident that got as scary as when he yelled at little Douglas for telling the truth about Beth, or if that particular episode had escalated into physical violence then Brooke’s attempt to get Douglas to a safer place could be seen as something completely logical, heroic, even. But from a completely legal standpoint, these incidents have been largely isolated.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Neglectful? Not quite.

And if anyone wants to argue that Thomas was neglectful at any time, while emotionally, it could be argued that he could have stood to be around a lot more in the past few months, at no time was little Douglas Forrester physically neglected. If Thomas was away or couldn’t be there for his son then he made sure that Douglas was always with someone. Either the Nanny, Amelia, or Brooke and Ridge, or Hope and Liam. In a court of law this is going to make Thomas look at the very least competent as a parent.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Thomas acknowledges he’s not a good Dad

The thing is, Thomas has acknowledged that he has problems. He has even offered to go to therapy and get help to resolve his issues as a Father and to pay for it himself. In a court of law this would stand up as a man who loves his son and is trying to change, not as a monster who is purely out to use his son to get whatever woman he wanted in his life. Now, will he go and get the help he needs? Only time will tell. But he needs to be given the chance to at least make the decision on his own.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: The thing that could get Douglas taken away

The one thing that might get Douglas taken away from Thomas would be the role he played in the death of Emma Barber (Nia Sioux), but that does not mean that Thomas wouldn’t have access to Douglas whatsoever. Ridge would probably be the most logical choice for a legal guardian, that is if one of Douglas’s Grandmothers, either Taylor Forrester (Hunter Tylo) or Caroline Spencer’s (Linsey Godfrey) Mom didn’t step forward and want to get him to come live with them. In fact, it’s kind of surprising that neither one has done that yet. If Ridge was made legal guardian then even if Thomas went to prison for his role in Emma’s death, he would still have access to his son through Ridge because Ridge has already proven that no matter what he’s going ti be on Thomas’s side.

‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Brooke needs more evidence

So if Brooke’s actions are to get Douglas away from Thomas then she is going to have to provide a way more airtight case than a couple of isolated incidents and a far more unrepentent Thomas. It’ll remain to be seen where this custody battle will head, so we’ll just have to stay tuned!!!
