‘Survivor’ Spoilers: Fans can play Survivor 41 from home

‘Survivor’ spoilers find that a hidden “game within the game” has been hinted at for the upcoming season 41 of the reality juggernaut. But what does that actually mean?

So far that has all been speculation but now host, Jeff Probst is explaining the newest twist to what already sounds like the most unique season ever.

“We have something brand new that is specifically designed for younger, future Survivor players,” Probst announced explaining that for the first time, fans will be able to play a completely different game while solving a weekly hidden rebus puzzle that can be found somewhere within the actual Survivor game, while safely watching from their couch.

“It might be hidden within a challenge, or at Tribal Council, or even underwater,” Probst continued.

For those uninitiated, a rebus puzzle combines the use of illustrated pictures with individual letters to depict words or phrases. For example, Mill1ion is the phrase “one in a million”

“Kids have to spot the puzzle, solve it and then input their answer online,” the Emmy award winning host revealed. “It plays for the entire season and pays off at the end.”

While it sounds like there will be an age cap to play online, it doesn’t mean adults won’t have fun helping their kids spot the puzzle or solving it.

“What makes it even more fun is the actual players on the island have no idea this is even happening,” Probst explained which brings to mind the hilarious vision of the next Aubry Bracco or Stephen Fischbach noticing these unnecessary clues and fixating/stressing over them all season long. FUN!

Probst still had more to reveal, saying, “In addition, we are going to try something new where we bring the audience inside the game at various points throughout the season. At times, the fans will know something before the players know, so that they can play along.

He also hinted that if both the younger viewers respond well to the rebus puzzles, and the older viewers receive the other ‘fourth wall breakers’ well, similar experiences may be included in future seasons.

In all honesty it could go either way- with some Survivor fans appreciating that the franchise gets a good shake up every now and then and others, who refer to themselves as purists, will be setting their teeth on fire in response.

Which team do you think you’ll be on when Season 41 premieres, changes and all on September 22 on CBS?
