‘Survivor’ spoilers find that the countdown is on for the September premier of season 41. In only a few months fans will sit down to watch what host and executive producer Jeff Probst promises to be the toughest season yet.
Taking to Instagram, Probst explained that the season, which has concluded filming, “was tough for the players. Think about it, we had an entire year where we weren’t shooting, so all we had was time to think. And that’s a dangerous thing.”
‘Survivor’ Spoilers: Host Jeff Probst Likens Season 41 to “The Monster in a Horror Movie.”
The year break, due to the Covid-19 filming shutdown and travel restrictions, “led to us creating a new game that is much more dangerous,” Probst continued saying that fans wouldn’t be amiss to refer to Survivor 41 as “Survivor 2.0” or “the dawn of a new era”. Probst even encouraged fans to forget the 4 in 41 and view this season as the first.
That’s a big call, Probst!
We do know that Survivor 41 will see significant format changes, namely a shortened length of gameplay, dropping from the usual 39 days marooned on the island to 26. There is no theme or even location to the game’s title, with the season being referred to as simply Survivor 41. It appears though, if we can believe Probst’s hyperbole, we haven’t heard or seen anything, yet.
Probst added the best way to think of this new version of Survivor: “Survivor 41 is like the monster in a horror movie, and if you’re a player, it’s coming for you. So, either you devour the monster, or the monster will devour you.”
It’s safe to say the challenges will be more demanding and brutal than ever ever and it has been rumored that rewards will be minimal compared to recent seasons. Spoilers say basic necessities like flint will no longer be a given, it will interesting to see if hidden idols are still given out like candy or far more scarce this time round.
We will have to watch Survivor 41 when premieres Wednesday, September 22 at 8 PM on CBS to find out!
