While there’s no doubt that people have different tastes, especially when it comes to the things that turn them off and on, Melissa Gorga had quite the experience with her future husband Joe Gorga during their second date. In fact, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star says that she was quite taken aback when Joe fell asleep during their second date together. Here’s what you need to know.
Even though there are plenty of guys out there who would have loved to spend some quality time with a gal like Melissa, for Joe their second date was a snooze fest. That’s right – Teresa Giudice’s brother fell asleep during their second date.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Melissa recalled, “I was like, ‘Am I boring you? Or are you on drugs?’ Like, did I meet somebody who does drugs? You’re closing your eyes! I am not used to boring people. What is happening here? And he literally just nodded out while I was talking to him on my second date.”
It’s a good thing that Joe actually had a good explanation as to why he fell asleep the way he did. “He was like, ‘No, I got up at 5:30 this morning. I’m exhausted,’” Melissa told the publication. “I was like, ‘Wow. I’ve never seen anyone nod out on me before. That’s a first.’”
Luckily for Joe, Melissa liked him enough to go out with him again after she realized that he was in fact truly tired during their second date while their first one wasn’t what she had expected, either. “… [On] the first date he had me at his home and he made me a fake dinner … He put all the food in the pots and pans that he ordered from the Italian restaurant down the street and swore he cooked it all,” she said.
Fast forward several years later and Melissa and Joe are happily married with three children: Antonia, 15, Gino, 14, and Joey, 11.
