Prince William and Kate Middleton’s cocker spaniel, Orla, has given birth to four adorable puppies, and Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are in love with their new furry friends.

Orla Was A Gift From Kate’s Brother, James Middleton

Orla joined the Wales family in 2020. She was a gift from Kate’s brother, James Middleton, who is known for his love of dogs.

Prince William says tht Orlo sleeps with he and Kate

James’s beloved late dog, Ella, famously helped him navigate the choppy waters of anxiety and depression. He has bred several generations of cocker spaniels.

James is currently the proud pet parent of six dogs. He has four cocker spaniels and two Labrador retrievers. Orla came from the litter of one of James’ dogs, Luna.

Orla was meant to provide companionship to their dog, Lupo, who sadly passed away shortly after Orla was welcomed into the family.

Lupo was also a present from James. At the time, the Wales family was mourning the loss of Lupo. James posted this heartfelt message on social media:

“Nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of a dog. For those who have never had a dog, it might be hard to understand the loss.”

    He noted.

“However, for those who have loved a dog know the truth, a dog is not just a pet, it is a member of the family, a best friend, a loyal companion, a teacher, and a therapist,”

    James added.

“There isn’t much of a rule book on how to grieve for a dog, but I’ve said a prayer, lit a candle, and taken Ella for a walk to spend time remembering Lupo. Rest in peace, Lupo. Tilly and Mini will be waiting for you. You will always be remembered, and your legacy will live on forever. Good boy,”

    He concluded.

William And Kate Enjoy Sharing Their Lives With Their Canine Companions

The royal family adores their four-legged friends, as Queen Elizabeth II owned over 30 corgis throughout her lifetime, and she loved them all.

The Queen and her CorgisOrla and her puppies are reportedly doing well. The pitter-patter of tiny fur feet is heard throughout the Wales home.

As of right now, the puppies have not yet been named, and there has also been no word on whether the Wales are planning to keep them. However, that isn’t stopping everyone from fawning all over the cute pups.

One insider close to the Prince and Princess of Wales said,

“Everyone loves new royal baby news, and so new royal puppies run very close.”

Much like the late Queen, William and Kate enjoy sharing their lives with their canine companions. William admitted in October 2024 that his “little dog Orla” likes to sleep with him and Princess Catherine on their bed at night.

Orla has also joined Prince William and Princess Catherine at several public events through the years, like charity polo matches.

Prince William loves Orla and Kate

In a sweet gesture last month, William and Kate posted a picture of Orla in honor of National Pet Day. The Royal couple dedicated their social media message to all those special furry family members.

William and Kate’s fondness for their family pet was evident as the caption read.

“Celebrating the animals who bring so much joy, companionship, and love to our lives.”
