Talk about being stuck in the middle. There’s a new report that says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being blasted for not sticking up for Princess Diana, or at least for the “tacky depictions” of the late princess by Netflix. Here’s what you need to know.
Reports say that Harry and Meghan are working on multiple projects including a documentary with the online streamer as part of their multi-million dollar deal. However, some critics believe that Harry and Meghan should not be taking a dime from Netflix because of the way the company has been portraying Harry’s mother, Princess Diana.

British filmmaker and socialite Jemima Khan – who was a close friend of Princess Diana’s – reportedly pulled out of helping to script Netflix’s “The Crown” because it was not being handled as respectfully as she had hoped. One insider put it this way, “To me, their silence is deafening.
It might be easier to explain their position, had we seen the fruits of their labor on Netflix, but to date nothing has been released, which is leaving some raised eyebrows in the industry as to what Netflix is exactly getting out of their investment.”
During his interview with James Corden earlier this year, Prince Harry said that “The Crown” isn’t as offensive to him as some would believe. The most recent season centered around the tumultuous marriage of his parents, Diana Spencer (played by Emma Corrin) and Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor).
“They don’t pretend to be news — it’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth,” he said of the show. “It gives you a rough idea about what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else — what can come from that.”
Prince Harry added, “I’m way more comfortable with ‘The Crown’ than I am seeing the stories written about my family or my wife or myself. That is obviously fiction — take it how you will — but this is being reported on as fact because it’s supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”
