British Royal Family News says that one royal expert believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “fast becoming irrelevant” in both the celebrity world and the internet. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking on the Pod Save the Queen podcast, royal editor Russell Myers suggests that by this time next year no one will even be talking about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex anymore. Because unlike Prince William and Kate Midldeton, who are tackling global subjects and actually getting to get work done with their royal engagements and public appearances, Harry and Meghan are “sitting in their ivory tower, sounding off about things” that some people deem irrelevant.

Russel puts it this way, “They’ve got to be careful here, sitting in an ivory tower, sounding off about things that are just coming into your head without people to advise you ‒ I don’t really know who their advisers are at the moment. It’s not coming across well and they are fast becoming a bit irrelevant, especially when you’re seeing the Cambridges and Prince Charles speaking about massive global issues like this. They’re going to be left behind a little bit.”
The podcast’s host, Ann Gripper, adds that Harry and Meghan certainly have a lot of work ahead of them, especially if sitting in their living rooms and talking to their fans on the Internet is the only thing they have in mind right now.
She said, “When you’ve signed up to be public speakers then that kind of is their role, you are public speaking. There’s the interview that Meghan did recently – I think it was with Fortune – they pop up in this fashion, speaking over Zoom about some issue, I think it was about the Internet community and that kind of thing and making the Internet a better place. But anyway, it’s a work in progress for them.”
