It’s no surprise that the cost of gas is skyrocketing everywhere, we’re all feeling the effect of these prices. It eats into our food budgets, our clothing budgets, and just about everything else. So, what does our president of the United States think we should do? 90 days of no federal gas tax.
While Joe Biden wants to try to place the blame on gas and oil companies for ‘profiteering’ the truth of the matter is that if their prices go up, our prices go up. This is economics 101. Still, Biden is looking for a scapegoat and here’s something that may sound good on paper, but in reality, won’t give much relief.

President Joe Biden Calls For National Gas Holiday – Congress Not On Board
Pausing the Federal Gas Tax would suspend the 18-cent/gallon tax for gas. This slight change according to Gasbuddy, would potentially save drivers about $2.21 a week. This, of course, isn’t the relief we’re looking for. $2.00 a week isn’t going to feed my family, and we were paying $2.00 less A GALLON not long ago.
Lawmakers are already shooting down the idea, as it won’t solve anything, and taking away a tax for a few months to throw $10 in our pockets simply isn’t worth it. Many are claiming it’s just a mid-term poster for Democrats to throw up to make people think they care.
People reacted to this saying, “Exciting! I’ll be able to buy a package of ramen noodles with the savings I receive!”, “That’s pathetic. That’s just a gesture. That little reduction is ridiculous. We need way more than that for help at the fuel pump. Thank you for sharing”, “Merry gasmas everyone! Enjoy your 18 cents!—santa joe”, “If you drive 12000 miles over the summer, this gas tax holiday will save you roughly $20… THANKS SO MUCH BIDEN! lol” and “Fun fact: you won’t even save enough money to get 1 extra gallon of gas.”
