The death of Anne Heche shook the world of celebrities and many of them have started to open up more about it. According to a past episode of Heche’s podcast, she did try to warn de Rossi about dating Ellen DeGeneres. The episode has resurfaced and fans are shocked about what they heard.
The Warning From Heche
On Heche’s podcast, Better Together, she opened up about Ellen and Portia as she talked with her fans. In an episode from June of 2021, she pointed out, “I warned Portia. Portia even asked me about Ellen before she came to my wedding, and Portia even said, ‘I’m gonna go after Ellen.'” Heche talked about how Portia was trying to become the poster child for a gay relationship and by dating Ellen, it would be perfect.

Heche then told Portia, “You won’t be the poster child, girl because, guess what, that posted child has already been taken away; and by the way, it wasn’t a great spot. But, your ain’t gonna be any easier. And I’m telling you now, like, red flag, red flag, red flag!” When Heche and Ellen were dating, there weren’t many couples in Hollywood who had come out as gay and it wasn’t exactly easy for them to do so. They were one of the first openly gay couples that made this statement and it was shocking to see at the time.
Heche went on to talk about Ellen’s choice of women and cars, “I realized that Ellen drove a Porsche…and then she married one. All she used to do was drive Porches and she collected them, and I just thought it was so stupid because they were so loud.”
Heche dated Ellen from 1997 to 2000 and they had a very public breakup when Heche had a mental breakdown that she claims is what ended their relationship. Heche then moved on to get married and have children of her own. On her podcast, she revealed that her relationship with Ellen is what got her “canceled” in Hollywood. She added, “I have been canceled since the day I was born.”
Anne said, “I didn’t do a studio picture for 10 years. I was fired from a $10 million picture deal and did not see the light of day in a studio picture.” Interestingly enough, Portia has been with Ellen for 14 years now and her career is still going very well. In fact, they celebrated their anniversary on August 16 and Portia wrote on her Instagram, “It’s good to be loved. It’s profound to be understood.”
