NPR is at it again by suggesting you might lack awareness of your white privilege if you use the yellow thumbs-up emoji. Yes, you read that correctly. Using the Simpson’s color thumbs up may mean you have some deep-seeded racism in your heart and are akin to society associating whiteness with being raceless.
Today they put out a piece that is… exhausting to read honestly, where you will have to jump through so many mental hoops, it hurts. Just take a look at the Tweet below and that should you get started.
“Some white people may choose Thumbs up because it feels neutral — but some academics argue opting out of Thumbs up signals a lack of awareness about white privilege, akin to society associating whiteness with being raceless.”

NPR Gets DESTROYED For Suggesting Using The Yellow Colored Emojis “Signals A Lack Of Awareness About White Privilege”
This piece (written by THREE people) has been getting destroyed left and right. People have commented, “what color emoji should Trudeau use”
“There has to be something fundamentally wrong with you as a human being to even spend enough time thinking about this subject to write an article on it.”
“This is where society is; how to virtue-signal with your thumbs-up emoji. Everything sucks.”
“I hate to say this, but it’s stuff like this that makes people hate liberals (and I am one). Now I have to second guess my emoji choice in fear I may be culturally appropriating, ignoring my privilege, or sending micro-aggressions, when really it was just whatever was quickest?”
This harkens back to 2018 when Kanye West said that he would leave his emojis “bart Simpson color”. A hilarious tweet now that shows just how far we’ve come (fallen).
