Netflix’s ‘The Lost Pirate Kingdom’ is a new docu-series coming next month that goes into detail about actual pirates of the Caribbean who stole from the world’s richest and formed a republic. You’ll hear such famous (or infamous) names like Blackbeard, and how they grew their presence.

The series will feature voiceover and video interviews from historians and other professionals against reenactments that could be a considered film worthy. Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“The real-life pirates of the Caribbean violently plunder the world’s riches and form a surprisingly egalitarian republic in this documentary series.”

Viewers aren’t thrilled about the idea of another docu-series however, and would’ve rather it been a television series about pirates, similar to HBO’s ‘Black Sails’. “Damn, I thought this would be a TV show, not a documentary.”, “Netflix we need a pirate series, not a documentary. I want an adult pirate of the Caribbean Vikings style series. Edit: to everyone saying black sails. I was thinking something on the lines of Vikings ( not a Vikings clone), something not afraid to be really gritty and gory if need be. Black Sails was a bit too much like merlin for me, but that’s just a personal opinion XD.”, “I’m sick of documentaries now….. We want Pirates of Caribbean type of series.”, “There is already a series on it named BLACK SAILS.” and “So this is isn’t a historical drama, but a documentry with cheesy recreations? My interest level just plummeted.”

Netflix’s ‘The Lost Pirate Kingdom’ releases next month on March 15th.
