Netflix’s ‘Barbarians’ knows how to do a teaser! This period piece takes place in 9 AD, when the battle between Germanic tribes attempted to stop the spread of the Roman Empire, though I think many of us already know how that turned out.

This looks to be a fantastic historic retelling of the battles and takes place in the Teutoburg forest. While we don’t know much about the film from just the teaser, anticipations are high. Especially for someone like me or loves these historical films that highlight moments in our time we may have not known about or have forgotten.

Take a look at the teaser below that was uploaded with the following description,

“During the battle of the Teutoburg forest in 9 AD the fates of three lives are connected to each other when the Germanic tribes attempted to halt the spread of the Roman Empire.”

Many viewers already have their hopes up about the film, “Looks good from the teaser, we’ll see that on Oct 23”, “I so appreciatte that both sides don’t speak the same language. It always seems weird to me that everyone speaks english in non english historical settings.”, “Any Total War fans arround? Unite to watch a shamful display on the roman side!”, and “Netflix making one show after another about epic European history is something i absolutely didn’t expect and i’m totally here for it”.

I too look forward to watching a film about European history and not seeing everyone speak English or have a British accent for some reason! It definitely adds to the realism and immersion into the film.

Netflix’s ‘Barbarians’ premieres next month, October 23.
