Just when we thought everything looked so bleak, here comes Netflix with Tiger King. This series consists of seven episodes and it has become the most-watched show on Netflix since it premiered last Friday. Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness is how Netflix has titled the show. This story is all about revenge, con artists, and there’s even some polygamy thrown in there. About five years ago, one of the directors was in Florida investigating a reptile dealer. That’s when he met a man with a snow leopard just hanging out in his car. Then Eric Goode decided to investigate this man further.
Netflix Tiger King: What’s It All About?
Enter: Joe Maldonado-Passage, or Joe Exotic as he known on the series. Joe used to own a private zoo and is a tiger breeder. He is now in prison for many crimes. His passion is big cats, but he also loves blowing things up, and filming shows for his YouTube channel. This guy does it all! He has been married many times and to many men all at the same time. He always wanted to be on a reality television show and become famous. Oh how the plot thickens.
Joe is now serving 22 years in prison. He was found guilty on multiple charges. One of those charges is murder-for-hire, even though he said he was framed. He also violated the Endangered Species Act when he was charged for killing five tigers. The other star of this show is a woman named Carole Baskin. She is an animal rights activist and owns a rescue center in Tampa. She has always wanted to put Joe out of business and she was excited when he went to prison. Joe and Carole were in a feud and lawsuit for quite some time. Joe is even accused of hiring someone to kill Carole. Has this grabbed your attention yet?
