This may have caught a lot of us off guard! On Netflix’s official YouTube channel released an entire feature documentary entitled ‘Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution’ today. The entire film runs 1 hour 46 minutes, however, at first glance, it looks like a 1-minute 46-second trailer! It only took a few minutes before I realized it wasn’t a trailer!
The film in question follows a group of campers who join the fight for disability civil rights on the heel of Woodstock. Netflix released the documentary straight to YouTube instead of its own streaming platform. The video was uploaded with the following description,
“On the heels of Woodstock, a group of teen campers are inspired to join the fight for disability civil rights. This spirited look at grassroots activism is executive produced by President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

Of course, I wasn’t the only one who mistook it for a trailer! The comment section filled with people saying the same thing, “did they just release the entire thing on youtube??”, “Me : How long is this preview? checks Aaaaahhh?”, “Wow, Netflix putting full features on YouTube. Cool :-)”, and “thank you Netflix!” filled the comments.
If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely give it a watch. It’s an interesting glimpse back in time and gives a lot of weight to everything happening in our current world.
