NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) are town pariahs. Well, sort of. Most in town would call them terrible people. Especially with Xander currently facing drug charges. But Gwen is about to face some trouble of her own on several levels, and we can’t help feeling bad about it. Let’s see what’s up and why we think one of these characters is about to make a huge mistake.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not that bad
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate that, no matter what some think, Gwen and Xander aren’t all that bad. After all, Xander was willing to put himself in legal trouble for Gwen’s sake. Well, hers and Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford). We like that. It shows the real Xander that very few get to see. This guy’s done terrible things, but he seems to be for real in wanting better of himself in the future and he’s walking the walk right now with Gwen.
As for Gwen, she’s grateful for what Xander did to save her bond with Jack. But she has enough good in her to feel terrible over not just her lie, but the trouble it’s got Xander in. She is also willing to put herself in a really bad situation to save him from prison time.
She also has enough shame and self-awareness to just accept Abigail Deveraux’s (Marci Miller) apology and own up to some of her own mistakes. But this is Salem. Very rarely do shady people who want to be better get that chance. It seems this town is determined to keep anyone from improving themselves and achieving a happy-ever-after. There’s a good example ahead.

So, while Gwen is determined to help, we just don’t see her efforts leading to anything good in her future. For one, there is Abigail. She is already questioning the story Jack shared about Gwen’s alleged sex worker past. So, we have little doubt Abigail isn’t going to learn the truth and expose it. And when she does, we’re sure she’ll do everything possible to make Gwen’s life Hell.
But that’s not all.

See, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal there was a certain clip in the Fall Preview that says this budding romance might be doomed. Xander literally gets out of bed with Gwen to find Sarah Horton (Lindsay Godfrey) after learning what really happened. Since she was the one who inspired Xander to be a better man, we believe he will want to get back with her. Which, of course, leaves Gwen in the cold.
We don’t agree with that. Watching Gwen and Xander in action has, for us, been far more entertaining than Xander and Sarah. And we think their mutual shady pasts keep them humble with each other and will prevent the kind of arguments Xander and Sarah have had before. Plus, will Sarah really be able to get over the fact Xander believed Kristin Dimera’s (Stacy Haiduk) act? And that he never tried to look for her in all this time? We think not.
