NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Why Jake and Gabi are doomed to failure

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal the Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) and Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) scam is in full effect. But it’s also run out of time. As we suspected, it’s on the verge of blowing up big-time. And Jake might have been a part in that. Let’s take a look at how things went down and why we find him lacking right now.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Mistake #1

First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Gabi obviously made the biggest mistake when she came up with this plan. However, the main one we’re talking about right now is how she executed it. Speaking about said plan in a house you know has other occupants is a huge blunder. And it seems to be an epidemic in that town, as no one knows when to keep their mouths shut.

However, it Gabi’s case, this is even more problematic. With Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) living there, there was more reason than ever to be quiet. And to play it cool. Her antagonistic behavior toward Ava is going to be her downfall. Thanks to yet another argument, Ava was ready to meet with Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) again. So, it shouldn’t be long until Ava maybe helps get that proof Philip seeks.

On a side note, we really got a kick out of the writing in the scene in question. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) nailed the bored big brother act as he called little sister into question. We especially loved when he told Gabi to apologize again. This time, as if she meant it. His handling of the situation and Gabi’s reaction was priceless and part of the reason we enjoy DOOL so much.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Mistake #2

In other news, Jake made a blunder of his own. We really don’t know what to make of him anymore. There are times where he seems like a somewhat together guy, and others where he comes across and bumbling and clueless.

The latter was on full display during his meeting with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Brady called Jake out for the fact Brady never said for sure he’d speak with Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). He also called Jake on his obvious fishing expedition. Which Brady said shows Jake has some ulterior motive. So much for their plan.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Our take

And this is what gets us about him. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers tease we’re about to learn a darker side to Jake, and we just can’t reconcile this right now with the performance he just put on. Sure, he did recover slightly in that talk with Brady, but it seems like he should have been a lot cooler and played that differently.

Especially if he is really a former hit man. We can’t imagine anyone doing such work while also being a bit bumbling and obvious in his behavior.
