‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers reveal we recently learned Lani Price (Sal Stowers) isn’t who she thought she is. Her real mother is Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) while her real father is an abusive ex of Paulina’s we only know as “Ray”. Let’s see what else we learned and why Paulina is in a no-win situation.

So, it seems Paulina held back a bit with Abe Carver (James Reynolds). When she told the story of a rich older man who became controlling, she left out one detail. It seems she got pregnant by him and was so terrified of the man, she had no choice but to give her daughter to Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo).
To protect Paulina and baby Lani, Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) and Tamara made it very clear this was an all-or-nothing proposition. They didn’t want Paulina hanging around Lani a lot, as every extended interaction could expose the secret.
Now, we obviously don’t know what became of this Ray, but for years, their secret coming out meant he could come along and be a threat. So, they’ve kept it in the dark all this time. All the while, they’ve essentially let Paulina be thrown under the bus as the aunt who disappoints Lani by not keeping her promises. It’s about to get worse.

Lani was furious about the Price Town mess. Not to mention the childhood trauma it stirred around their never-happened trip abroad. However, Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) appealed to Lani’s better nature. He urged her to forgive Paulina. Not for Paulina’s sake, but for Lani’s. He doesn’t want her holding on to so much hurt and anger. He obviously had great intentions, but you know where those can lead.

Thanks to Eli, Lani did go to see Paulina. She assured Paulina all was forgiven on one condition—she had to be honest. No more secrets. No more lies. This is where Paulina just can’t win. By keeping quiet, she’s not respecting Lani’s condition. While she has no way of knowing whether or not Lani could find out by chance, we’ll say odds are good. It’s a soap after all. What dark secrets of the past stay there? Exactly.
So, when this inevitably comes out, Lani will be hurt once again. Paulina didn’t keep yet another promise. However, telling her can also hurt. Can you imagine learning your aunt is your mother? And you were fathered by some abusive, horrible man? The knowledge will, as Olivia pointed out, turn Lani’s world upside down.
We think the only way for these two to have a relationship long-term is for Paulina to be truthful. As much as it will hurt, Paulina’s story would be sympathetic. Lani will be hurt and angry, but we think eventually she’ll realize the situation Paulina was in. And that by doing what she did, Paulina not only save her from an abusive man, but she gave Lani a father figure that’s a far better person.
