Ever since Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) decided he wanted no part of the family business, EJ has been doing everything possible to block his son’s dream. That came to a head on Tuesday, October 5th. Let’s take a look at a highlight moment, and how someone became the voice of reason.

First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Johnny has a dream of being a filmmaker. Unfortunately for him, his father has kept some of family from supporting Johnny’s project. This has been a big part of EJ’s determination to force Johnny into working for DiMera—give him no choice by cutting off any potential funding.
However, EJ couldn’t make that happen. Both Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Lucas Horton (Brian Dattilo) decided to fund the project. But it was still in danger, as the DiMera side hadn’t provided any financial backing. Until now. That help came in the form of Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), who agreed to fund the movie.

So, this was a favorite bit of the episode. The interactions between Johnny, Chad, and Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) were priceless. They had this fun, playful energy in the scene that felt so natural, it was like they’d been working with Boatman for years. And we get the feeling Chad and Abigail were somewhat playing with Johnny throughout the scene. Maybe making him sweat out whether they’d support the project. But our favorite moment was when Johnny asked Chad if he was going to let his big brother tell him what to do. Well, that and the look on Abigail’s face after Johnny said that. We can’t wait to see more from these three as the project gets going. But there was still a problem.

Obviously, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal EJ was furious to learn that not only was Chad investing in the film, but Abigail was going to be in it. He did his usual thing and threw out some threats, even implying that he would somehow keep Chad from distributing the money. It looked like EJ was about to explode until Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) stepped in.
Taking her date outside, she gently called him out on his behavior and the reasons for it. She thinks he’s using control over Johnny to deal with his anger and hurt over Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) affair.
Also, Nicole pointed out that Johnny is a man with the right to make his own mistakes and forcing him into something he doesn’t want isn’t going to help. It was a nice moment that had a clear impact on him. We’ll see if that holds up, but we think Nicole could be a good influence on him.
