Well, that didn’t take too long, now did it? Mossimo Giannulli is now a completely free man as he has completed his 5-month sentence for the college admissions scandal that he and his wife Lori Loughlin were involved in.

The couple went to prison for paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters, Isabella and Olivia Jade, admitted to the University of Southern California as recruits for the crew team, even though they were never on it. Here’s what you need to know.

Prison records state that the fashion designer was released from community confinement on Friday, a day earlier than scheduled. Giannulli was previously released from the USP Lompoc prison in Santa Barbara, California, and transferred to a halfway house in Long Beach, California, on April 2.

According to the criminal complaint against them, the couple was accused of paying $500,000 to Rick Singer and Key Worldwide Foundation to falsely designate their daughters.

Mossimo Giannulli spent 56 days in quarantine due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and that it’s taken a “significant” toll on his “mental, physical, and emotional well-being.”

Later that month, a judge ruled against Giannulli, noting that he was no longer in quarantine. “Although defendant’s quarantine was longer than anticipated, he has since been released to the general population,” Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton wrote. “He has given no extraordinary or compelling reason why his current circumstances in the camp warrant immediate release.”

Lori, meanwhile, was released in December after serving a two-month sentence for her role in the college admissions scam. Loughlinalso must serve two years of supervised release, perform 100 hours of community service and pay a fine of $150,000.

So far Lori Loughlin herself has not made any comments about her husband’s release. We will update you with all of the latest details as they come in.
