One royal critic has deemed Meghan Markle’s New York City wardrobe as “wildly inappropriate.” Seeing how the temperature in the Big Apple was a hot and humid 80 degrees during Prince Harry and Meghan’s trip, a lot of fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder why the duchess wore wool coats during each and every one of her outings. Here’s what you need to know.
Lady Colin Campbell, who has long been an outspoken critic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, took to her YouTube account to blast Meghan for her outfits during her first trip back to New York City in more than two years. Despite the heat, she wore wool jackets, full-length jumpsuits, scarves, and even a turtleneck.

Lady C put it this way, “t’s summer and everybody knows in summer you need to either wear fur coats or winter coats… you don’t need to take my word for it. You can ask that ridiculous Duchess of Sussex. It is wildly inappropriate, even in England on a summers day and definitely in New York on a summers day.”
She added, “Of course I don’t suppose Meghan has ever really lived in New York, I mean I have the benefit of having been to school in New York, but I don’t think Meghan has ever lived in New York. So maybe she didn’t realise in New York when it is 80 degrees…. SUMMER CLOTHES!”
If that weren’t enough, a lot of critics noticed that Meghan sported a $4,000 tobacco-colored cashmere Max Mara coat along with another $5,000 coat and $2000 wide-leg pants during her visit to Harlem’s PS 123 Mahalia Jackson soon, where almost the entire population receives free or reduced meals. So far Meghan herself has not made any comments about the criticism.
