Meghan Markle has been called out for what appears to be, yet again, another publicity stunt. She created a social media post in which she was boasting about helping a 15-year-old LA wildfire victim.
Meghan Was “Determined” To Make Sure The Teen’s Story Reached Billie Eilish
The Duchess of Sussex uploaded a video. The video showed how she helped a teenager after her home burned down in Altadena a few weeks ago.
The young lady was heartbroken after her Billie Eilish T-shirt had been reduced to ash. Meghan told the girl,
“I don’t know Billie Eilish, but I am going to get you that shirt.”
Meghan was determined to make sure the teens’ story reached Eilish, and she succeeded. She displayed her victory in the video as the camera panned over to the Billie Eilish lunchboxes, t-shirts, etc.
Meghan proceeded to name-drop her A-list pals and showed off how her contact list helped her score signed merch for the girl.
Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, responded to the video and sent the merch as Meghan mimicked the excited squealing of the teen.
A branding and PR expert, Hayley Knight, slammed Markle, claiming that the video “feels false and orchestrated, and suggests that it may have been a ploy to make her appear relatable to young social media users.
It looked like Meghan, who was dressed down and very obviously wearing no make-up, was making an “intentional attempt” to connect with young people who value “authenticity and spontaneity.”
Many correspondents have noted that this is a contrived and insignificant gesture on social media compared to the severity of the tragedy of the LA wildfires.
Meghan Is Nothing If Not Predictable
Not to mention, the Instagram pages of Billie Eilish and Adam Levine didn’t share their good deed. They didn’t find it necessary to broadcast their efforts to help the teen.

After Meghan posted the video, several news articles were written about her philanthropy. In the video, Meghan is overacting as she looked like she was about to burst.
Meghan said,
“Huge thank you to Billie Eilish; this is going to mean so much to her, and honestly, to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped me get this over the line.”
She added,
“And to everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much.”
Author and editor Alexander Larman wrote in The Spectator,
“The disaster has attracted a small but vocal number of people who ostensibly have offered their time and resources to provide much-needed assistance, but in reality, seem more interested in creating content to share on their social media.”
He added,
“Meghan Markle, predictably enough, belongs to that category.”
The writer pointed out that Meghan was pretending to be giddy and excited and berated Meghan for “the idea that some signed trinkets can in some way compensate for a truly epochal disaster.”
Many celebrities have reached out to help others in the wake of this tragedy, but of course, Meghan Markle is the only one who feels it’s appropriate to make a promotional video about it. It’s genuinely vomit-inducing.
