Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be pressed to evacuate their 29-million-dollar mansion as the fires that destroyed many homes and businesses are headed toward Montecito.
Montecito Has Been Placed Under A Red Flag Warning
Montecito has been placed under a red flag warning as the winds are building up. The Santa Ana winds, referred to as “the Devil Winds,” will bring a significant threat across Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.
It comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened their home to friends and loved ones who had to evacuate or were victims of the wildfires.
Tuesday, January 14th, is said to be “the most dangerous day yet for the LA fires.” Unforgiving hurricane-force winds are expected to come at high speeds. This will cause fires to “grow rapidly” and “behave erratically.”
The couple is in danger of losing their home and must prepare to evacuate immediately. The Montecito Fire Department has warned everyone living in that area to be ready.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have already planned an evacuation plan with their security team and have packed essentials for their children, Archie and Lilibet.
The Sussexes have been given public safety survival kits that include a solar charger, flashlight, ice, water, snacks, protective equipment, and safety pamphlets.
After the LA fires ravaged southern California last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recommended charities, animal groups, and other means of support for those affected by the blazes.
The pair also went to the Pasadena Convention Center to serve meals to fire survivors and first responders.
Harry and Meghan were there to comfort the victims and help with relief efforts. They also donated through their Archewell Foundation.
Harry And Meghan Were Accused Of Being “Disaster Tourists”
“The Sussexes were keen to provide any support they could. The mayor, Victor Gordo, said they were “great people” with “great personalities.”
“They buoyed the spirits of the first responders. We visited the command post at the Rose Bowl, and people were happy to see them,”
Gordo added.
Hollywood actress Justine Bateman took to Twitter to slam Harry and Meghan, calling them “disaster tourists,” accusing them of only being there for a “photo op.”
Sources close to Harry and Meghan said the couple finds the comments repulsive. Meghan grew up in LA, and her heart is breaking to see it go up in flames and all the devastation it caused as a result.
The source also said, “It’s offensive to Meghan and Harry that anybody would think this is merely a photo opportunity.”
The deadly fires killed at least 24 people, and possibly more, as people are missing who are being searched for.
Not only do Harry and Meghan and their kids live in Montecito. It is home to celebrities like Oprah and Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry.
The red flag warning is currently in effect in most of southern California. The warning branches off from Ventura County through San Diego County.
LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone explained. “If winds reach 70mph, it’s going to be very difficult to contain that fire.”
We hope Harry and Meghan, their children and dogs, and everyone close to the fires in LA stay safe.
