No, you didn’t misread the headline, we at DSD did a double-take too. There are probably plenty of fans wondering why on earth someone as big as Lil’ Nas X would be appearing on the Maury Povich show, but apparently it doesn’t matter how big you get, celebrities can still have relationship drama and Lil’ Nas X decided to publicize his on the Maury show.
If this were the 90’s, this wouldn’t have been out of place on the Jerry Springer show but it’s 2021 and times have changed.
Lil’ Nas X appears on the Maury Show
Apparently Lil’ Nas X AKA “Montero” fell in love at football practice (Lil’ Nas X is on a football team, since when?) with a man named Jai, about a month ago, and did not know that he was married with a child at the time, in fact he said that Jai pretty much led him on and Montero only discovered that he was married when he went to Jai’s house to surprise him with roses and his wife answered the door holding said child.

Quite a narrative there. Montero went on to say that Jai later told him that he didn’t even want to be with Ashley and said that previously he had never even mentioned Ashley’s name, that every time they were together it was all about those two.
Jai sounds like a real winner, eh?
Montero also said that he wanted a paternity test done on little Noah, the 4 year old in question, because both he and Jai truly didn’t believe that this was his baby. Maury went the extra mile though, he not only provided the DNA test requested, but he also went and provided a lie detector test for dear ol’ Jai.
Ashley was savage though, and said to Montero that, “You don’t have a family and that’s why you’re trying to ruin mine.” ouch! She desroyed the roses that Montero brought for Jai as well. Both were confident that Jai was going to go home with them, one because she was his wife, the other because they truly believed that they were in love.
Then Montero dropped the bomb that Ashley was fooling around with everybody on the football team behind Jai’s back… and it turns out he was right, the paternity test did indeed reflect that Ashley had been cheating. Ashley tried to defend herself saying that “we made mistakes” but too little, too late, it seemed.
Jai turned around and proceeded to propose to Montero amid loud protests from Ashley, though Jai assured her that they could get a divorce. If you thought it ended at heart-warming though? You’d be wrong because the lie detector test not only revealed that Jai did want to be with him, but that he had also had sexual contact with people other than him and Ashley.
Joke’s on Montero, I guess.
They ran all the way outside the studio and then Montero shoved Jai off him and ran away. At the end of the segment, the Maury Show put up a disclaimer saying that the entire segment was a collab between Lil’ Nas X and the Maury show and that the storyline wasn’t actually real, but based on the video “That’s what I want” by Lil’ Nas X.
Congratulations to Lil’ Nas X for pulling the most excellent troll job that anyone has ever done, we were genuinely confused for a moment thinking that Lil’ Nas X was out here stealing people’s husband’s. (Although, we kind of wondered about the whole segment’s veracity when they showed pictures of Montero and Jai “together”.) Wow. Well played!
