British Royal Family News says there might be a good reason why Prince William is just now opening up about his battle with coronavirus back in April. That’s because the Duke of Cambridge was caught on video mocking the pandemic during a visit to Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse in Ireland back in March. Here’s what you need to know.

A few weeks before he “struggled to breathe” with his own battle with Covid-19, Prince William poked fun at the matter while speaking to first responders during a royal engagement in Ireland.

“I bet everyone’s like, ‘I’ve got coronavirus, I’m dying,’ and you’re like, ‘No, you’ve just got a cough,’” the Duke of Cambridge quipped to first responder Joe Mooney, according to video footage of their exchange. He added: “It does seem quite dramatic about coronavirus at the moment. Is it being a little hyped up, do you think, by the media?”

That wasn’t the only thing that was said. In another video clip, the future King of England was also heard saying, “By the way, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spreading coronavirus. Sorry!”

During his battle with the virus, Prince Charles’ son was treated by palace doctors and was isolated away from his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children while at their home in Amner Hall. One source told Britain’s The Sun that William was hit pretty hard by the virus.

“At one stage he was struggling to breathe, so obviously everyone around him was pretty panicked,” the source said. “After seeing medics and testing positive — which was obviously quite a shock given how fit and healthy he is — William was determined it should be business as usual though.”

The insider further explained, “He felt there were more important things going on in the country. But as a result of his own experiences, he realizes absolutely anyone can catch this awful disease — and knows how imperative it is that we all take this second lockdown seriously.”
