It’s never easy losing someone close to us, and it’s especially hard when it’s someone we consider an extended family member or mentor.

Such is the case with Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) as she’s been trying to wrap her head around her onscreen mother.

Laura retweeted fellow castmates comments about Jackie’s passing with mostly broken heart or heart emojis, and it wasn’t until she took to Instagram before she could publicly put into words what Jackie meant to her and how she’s handling her passing.

“I’m struggling to wrap my head around this. I’m so grateful to have shared so many years with this beautiful woman. Jackie told the best stories, had an incredible spirit and lived such an amazing life. She loved working on GH. She adored her daughters and lit up when talking about her grandchildren. Saying she will be missed is an understatement. Thank you Jackie for sharing your heart and soul with all of us. Much love to (Jackie’s daughters) Cassidy and Lacey.”

On Wednesday (May 10) evening, it was announced that Jackie Zeman died after a short bout with cancer. She was 70 years old.

Since then, the soap opera world has poured out their memories, sympathy, shock, and love about the woman we got to know as Bobbie Spencer on “General Hospital” for 46 years.

    Carlys share the grief

Laura formed a special bond with Jackie as they played mother and daughter since Laura joined “General Hospital” in 2005, and she wasn’t the only Carly to share their thoughts.

Her predecessors, Sarah Brown and Tamara Braun each shared their heartache on their Instagrams as the news spread.

Sarah shared her love and gratidude:

“The world has lost an absolutely unique & beautiful spirit. I don’t have all the words in this moment to express my gratitude to this beautiful feminine human who helped me so much during my time on General Hospital. Mourning her loss along with the millions of people all over the world who loved watching her shine. Much love to you Momma. Rest well. Give all those angels our love 💔 Your light, family, friends & fans will be in our hearts forever”

    And Tamara shared her shock:

“I don’t have the words. This shocks and hurts too much for words. I want to hug you. Laugh with you. Share stories. Talk real talk because that’s what we did. I can not believe this is true. How is this true? I don’t have the words right now. I’m heartbroken. My love is with you and your beautiful Cassidy and Lacey, your beautiful grand babies, your fur babies and everyone who was lucky enough to know your heart and love. No words to do you justice. This really hurts. I love you. I cannot believe this. #love”

Leaving such a mark on those in life is often the greatest achievement we can make. Thank you, Jackie. You’ll be missed.
