While royal fans have certainly gotten a lot of on-screen drama thanks to the massive success of Netflix’s series, “The Crown,” actress Kristen Stewart says that her new feature film, “Stewart” is like none other. This film might be the way that we change the way we see Kristen Stewart – and perhaps even Princess Diana – forever. Here’s what she has to say.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Kristen told reporters: “There’s nothing salacious about our intention. The movie doesn’t offer any new information. It doesn’t profess to know anything. It imagines a feeling.”

Kristen added: “I think my impression can only be my own. But Diana was a woman who wanted people to come together and I think that this movie’s ambition is to bridge gaps. I think if anyone ever made a movie about me, I wouldn’t feel like it was … I wouldn’t feel stolen from or taken from. There’s nothing salacious about our intention, I think that would be probably more embedded in interpretation.”
Speaking to OK! Magazine in an interview back in June, Kristen Stewart said that she loved playing Princess Diana in her upcoming film and that it was one of the coolest experiences of her career.
“She means a lot to me – but it’s all relatively new because I’m from LA and I didn’t grow up in England. Before this, she was not something that was at the forefront of my mind, because I lived so far away from it all.
Kristen added, “To be honest, I’ve now consumed pretty much all there is to consume in terms of videos and interviews. I’ve watched everything that you could hear or see. I even go to sleep with it on.”
