The King’s Recovery Is Still Headed In A Positive Direction
The palace played down the incident, with sources stating that the King’s ongoing recovery path is still headed in a positive direction. Sources have stressed that these issues are common with medical treatments.
Charles was expected to visit the city’s Royal Ballet, open a new hospital, and visit a church and Sikh temple.
The King’s state visit to Italy is still set to take place on April 7th, with some changes to the planned schedule.
It is set to be his first overseas trip of the year, following on from a two-week foreign tour to Australia and Samoa in October, during which he temporarily ceased cancer treatment.
Charles and Camilla were also forced to postpone a state visit to see Pope Francis, based on the advice of the Pope’s doctors, who said the Holy Father needed more time to recover from his illness.
The King and Queen were set to visit the Vatican to celebrate the 2025 Jubilee on April 8th as part of their trip to Italy. They announced on Tuesday, the 25th that they had postponed due to the Pope’s health.

This update is the most current regarding King’s cancer treatment, which has been ongoing since February 2024, when he shared that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
King Charles Maintains A Positive Outlook
The cancer was found when he had treatment for an enlarged prostate in January 2024. Fortunately, his cancer was discovered at a very early stage, giving him a greater chance of achieving a positive outcome. Charles took a brief break from his public duties after the diagnosis.
However, the King continued to perform duties, including a review of government papers. He participated in closed-door meetings before he could return to a full diary.
Sources claim King Charles is now back at Clarence House, “working away as usual.” Charles has been undertaking a full diary of public engagements while undergoing cancer treatment.
The King has rescheduled his appointments for tomorrow as per the medical advice of his doctors. Buckingham Palace has never revealed what type of cancer the King has.
The only thing that the palace confirmed was that it wasn’t connected to the corrective prostate procedure he underwent in January last year.
There was an outpouring of support after the King’s health update. A spokesperson for British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer wished the King the best. Royal correspondent Angela Levin sent her regards to the King, writing on social media, “He is a great man, and I wish him well.”
The King has maintained a positive attitude during his cancer ordeal by focusing on his work. King Charles shared his diagnosis openly, expressing gratitude for the support he’s received. He is grateful for being able to rely on his family and friends.
The reveal of the King’s cancer diagnosis helped raise awareness for the illness. The King encouraged others and lifted the spirits of those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
