Awww. Now this what they must call true love. Katy Perry has gone on the record to thank her life partner Orlando Bloom for “handling the insanity” that is her life. She made her comments while she was being honored at a ceremony celebrating women in Hollywood. Here’s what you need to know.
Katy Perry was one of five stars honoured at Variety’s Power Of Women event, a gala held in Los Angeles and attended by stars including Angelina Jolie, Lorde and Rita Moreno. She was also recognized for her work with her Firework Foundation, which uses the arts to help disadvantaged communities.

In her speech, Katy praised her fiancé for being a great partner and father to their one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Katy thanks Orlando for being “an incredible father, an example to our greatest gift ever, our daughter Daisy – a future powerful woman.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Katy is actually best friends with Orlando’s ex-wife, Miranda Kerr. The two women spoke about their kids and the constant and unconditional love between them and their unconventional but certainly happy family in an Instagram Live.
Miranda, who shared her 10-year-old son Flynn with Orlando, started things off by saying that her kids are her number one love. She said, “It’s just the best thing in the world, being a mom.”
Katy, who welcomed baby daughter Daisy with Orlando back in August, gushed, “I feel like I got the opportunity to climb every single mountain, especially career-wise, and see those views, and a lot of them I’m really grateful for. But there was no feeling like the feeling of when I had my daughter.”
“That was like all the love I was every searching for,” Katy recalled, adding that welcoming a child gave her a sensation of “wholeness.”
“It’s the heart-opener of all heart-openers,” Miranda agreed.
“Sometimes you are beloved, and then sometimes people are like, ‘Nah, I don’t like that. Moving on.'” Katy said. “But the love from your children is constant and unconditional and isn’t based on what you have, what you don’t have, what career, what product.”
