She doesn’t need to write a children’s book to let everyone know just how successful and influential she is. In fact, Kate Middleton’s new book, Hold Still, is already considered a huge success as she surprised Londoners by hiding her charity book all around the city. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, Kate’s photography book is already a bestseller, even though today is the first day that it’s available in bookstores. The Duchess of Cambridge launched a treasure hunt by leaving copies around London – and the rest of the UK, too – with a special letter tucked inside.

To mark its release, Prince William’s wife also met with contributors at the National Portrait Gallery on Friday morning with the Book Fairies organization. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has made it no secret that she loves photography and taking good pictures, started her campaign during the first lockdown back during the first quarter of 2020.

She asked people all across the UK to submit images which captured the period and the result is Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020, features 100 final poignant and personal portraits selected from 31,000 entrants.

Proceeds from the book raised will be split between leading mental health charity Mind and the National Portrait Gallery. What’s more, the gallery also announced that the 100 final Hold Still portraits will become part of their permanent collection.

Now, whether or not Meghan Markle’s book, The Bench, can match Kate’s book in sales remains to be seen. Meghan’s book is scheduled to come out in June and right before Father’s Day. Meghan wrote The Bench as a tribute to her husband Prince Harry and his close relationship with their son, Archie Harrison.
