Kate Middleton is planning her annual Christmas carol service set to return on Friday, December 5th, at Westminster Abbey in London. Over a thousand guests were invited to watch the choir perform.
All The Guests at the Christmas Service are Connected by Themes Of Love
There will also be celebrity readings from Hollywood starlet Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Attendees will also be treated to special musical performances by Hannah Waddingham and Dan Smith from Bastille.
Kate Winslet will attend following her appointment as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, one of King Charles’s personal charities, in June.
The Princess of Wales spearheaded the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service in 2021 to honor those who went above and beyond for others during the pandemic.
The theme of love connects all the guests invited to the service. The guests may have dedicated time, volunteered, or launched initiatives to help others.
Some members of the royal family will also be in attendance. Kate has added a moving tribute to the late Katharine, Duchess of Kent, who passed away in September.
The Princess is also incorporating her love of nature and the outdoors into the occasion with the décor. Jamie Butterworth, one of the UK’s most passionate plantsman and horticulturists, will create the setting.
Kate’s fifth annual Christmas at Together service will be filmed for broadcast to air in the UK on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Kensington Palace said,
“The event will bring people together to celebrate love in all its forms, whether it’s love within families, through friendships, across communities, or even in powerful moments of connection with strangers.”
They continued,
“In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all, spanning generations, communities, cultures, and faiths.”
They added,
“As we approach the Christmas season, we are reminded of the power of togetherness. This evening will highlight the transformative power of investing in one another with compassion, presence, and joy.”
There Will be a Tribute to the Late Katharine, Duchess of Kent, At the Concert
Before the guests enter Westminster Abbey, they will be entertained with music by young performers from Future Talent, the charity co-founded by the late Duchess of Kent to support children from low-income backgrounds.
Katharine, Duchess of Kent, followed her dream and became a music teacher after she stepped down as a working royal.
Last year was the most challenging year for Kate and the entire Wales family. The Princess hosting the Christmas concert last year marked her return to royal duties.
The Princess had been diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent treatment. She was finally declared cancer-free this past September.
The service was attended by Kate’s family, including Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Additionally, Kate surprised her daughter, Charlotte, at the concert last year. She enlisted Louis to keep a secret from his big sister.
Charlotte, who adores ballet, was visibly impressed by the Royal Ballet soloists at the Together at Christmas service.
Charlotte inherited her late grandmother, Princess Diana’s, love of ballet and began taking ballet lessons from an early age. Kate has also taken Charlotte to watch the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House.
In Kate’s official letter to her attendees last year, she wrote an emotional message about the importance of “love, not fear” in times of difficulty as she reflected on her own challenging year and cancer treatment.
For this year’s theme, Kate will focus on “the Power of Love and Togetherness.
” Last year’s concert theme was “love, empathy, and compassion.”
