Earlier today, Kate Middleton and Prince William posted a Valentine’s Day message on their Instagram account. The royal couple marked Cupid’s Holiday by sharing a never-before-seen photo of themselves, taken in Norfolk last April.
Kate and William Posted a Never-Before-Seen Picture of Themselves In Honor of Valentine’s Day
Kate and William are shown sitting outdoors, smiling and cuddled up close. The sweet but simple message they wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
The intimate snap was also accompanied by two pink heart emojis. Last year, Kate and William posted their first tribute to the romantic holiday.
It showed a pic of William kissing Kate on the cheek. They were holding hands and sitting on a blanket in the woods. The photo is set against a beautiful woodland backdrop.
The image comes from the video announcement from last September, when Kate proudly revelaed that she had completed her chemotherapy and was now cancer-free.
Also, the Princess of Wales has quietly donated a rose to the mother-and-baby unit of a prison to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Royal Marsden is where Kate was treated for cancer.
The Princess announced her heartbreaking cancer diagnosis in March 2024, in an unprecedented and very personal video message, one month after King Charles announced his own diagnosis.
Kate has often described her cancer ordeal as a “roller coaster.” During the healing process, Kate spent a lot of time in nature, finding peace there. She’s often referred to nature as her “sanctuary” for her physical, mental, and spiritual recovery.
The gorgeous flower, aptly named “Catherine’s Rose,” was planted in the garden. According to the Daily Mail,
“Catherine’s Rose was bred by Harkness Roses and will produce coral-pink blooms.”
The rose was named after the Princess of Wales by the Royal Horticultural Society last May. It is often shipped as a bare-root plant.
The Royal Horticultural Society Intended Catherine’s Rose to Celebrate Kate’s Dedication to Highlighting the Healing Power of Nature
Catherine’s Rose has the scent of Turkish delight and a hint of mango. The rose was intended to celebrate Kate and her dedication to highlighting the healing power of nature.
“Five hundred Catherine’s Rose plants were given to green spaces and well-being gardens across the UK, including several of Kate’s patronages, by the cancer charity, which also receives funds from the sale of the flower.”
Action for Children, of which the Princess is a patron, shared that “Catherine’s Rose” was placed in its new home on Wednesday by a mother and child who met Kate at HMP Styal, which is a women’s prison.
The pond and gardens, which are part of the prison grounds, are hugely important and very special to the mothers and babies there. They give children a space to enjoy the fresh air and nature.
During Kate’s visit in February 2025, she met with a few inmates who have children. The future Queen also stopped by their personal accommodation and nursery.
After she met with some mothers, she went to introduce herself to staff members and two former inmates to ask them about their experiences.
They made it clear to Kate that they were treated with the utmost respect, and expressed their determination to make sure the lives of their children would be different.
