So does this mean that the royal family might never get to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie or their future daughter? That might be the case as there’s a new report that suggests it might be several long years before the Duchess of Sussex steps foot on UK soil again.
That’s because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just shut down their UK-based charity, MWX Trading. Here’s what you need to know.
Just last year, Harry and Megs officially changed the charity’s name from ‘Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ to MWX Foundation. They have never revealed what MWX stands for, although suggestions include Markle Windsor or Mountbatten Windsor, referring to their son Archie’s name.
It Will Be Several Years Before Meghan Markle Travels To The UK
This came after the couple agreed to stop using their Sussex Royal brand after stepping down as full-time members of the royal family. This, of course, is yet another signal that suggests Prince Harry is cutting ties with the UK.
While there’s no doubt that Harry will visit the royal family for funerals and coronations, some believe that it might be years before Meghan does the same. But then again, it’s not like she has any reason to visit Britain anytime soon, seeing how she’s the least popular member of the royal family right now.
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for many fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to social media to write, “Good for them. Wind that company down and continue making Archewell the superstar global phenomenon it is destined to become. And I hope Meghan doesn’t set foot in the UK for a few years.”
Another critic pointed out, “One of the issues of not going to Britain is the assumed complication of their baby girl not being christened by the Church of England. That can’t be done anywhere else but in the U.K. I read that if she never is, she can’t be in the line of succession and apparently can’t be royal therefore excluding her from her birthright when Charles becomes king.”
So far neither Harry nor Meghan have made any comments about the report.
