Too bad things turned out as bad as they did because it looks like Meghan Markle was actually fangirling her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton before she even met Prince Harry. In fact, there’s an old photo that has just resurfaced of Meghan posting with a Kate Middleton magazine cover.
According to critics, the photo sparks doubt on Meghan’s claim that she didn’t know much about the royal family before she met Prince Harry in 2016 and married him in 2018.
In fact, Meghan also said that she was “naïve” to the duties of royal life before becoming the Duchess of Sussex. The photo of Meghan holding the Kate Middleton magazine was taken in 2014 and has since made the social media rounds.

“She said she didn’t do any research on Harry or his family before she got married!” one person tweeted, while another person added, “Was that because she was more interested in what Kate had?”
Another critic said, “She has stalked the Royals for years!!! She’s not fooling anyone.”
With that said, one royal reporter suggested that Kate Middleton never wanted to compete with Meghan Markle for attention.
While no one will really ever know what actually happened behind closed doors between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, some royal insiders suggest that all Prince William and Kate Middleton wanted was the best for everyone. The Duchess of Cambridge also didn’t try to hog the spotlight from anyone else, either.
“Catherine is so marvelously uncompetitive considering the amount of attention she gets from everyone,” one senior palace figure told The Daily Mail recently. “She manages to raise the Queen’s spirits. The Queen sees it as quite wonderful that William married such a sensible girl whom the public seem to love for her own sake.”
