So after a lot of back and forth on Doja Cat’s Twitter it looks like she has doubled down on her claims to quit music… but there still might be some chances to see her perform yet, seeing as she has a few contractually obligated performances to do provided they don’t get cancelled because of weather.
Currently, she is set to perform at Lollapalooza Brazil, on weekend 2, and then there is another live performance in July that she is obligated for, so her fans may want to jump on the tickets if they want to see Doja Cat perform live.
Is Doja Cat Quiting Music Or Not? – Here’s What We Found Out!
It looks like over on Twitter Doja was having a bit of an existential crisis, she did issue an apology to fans saying that she owed them a lot and for a hot minute we thought – thought – that she could be walking back her decision to quit music.
However, whe one radio station mistakenly tweeted out, “Maybe Doja Cat isn’t quitting music?” Doja Cat responded with “Yes the f*ck I am!” okay then, we get it. Obviously she’s done with her budding career and everything that goes with it. We do wonder what on earth her label thinks about this, considering that she is not an independent artist even though she started out that way on Soundcloud. Obviously she would have to fulfill her RCA contract unless she can find a way to legally wiggle out of it.
Could she, though? Obviously, she’s complained of being overworked and tired and has obviously not been actually feeling the music or the industry for a while. Before the pandemic she complained about being overworked, since quarantine she hasn’t really said anything to that effect but now that she’s been receiving backlash for the whole Paraguay incident she has started to rethink her life goals and just wants to disappear.
One does wonder how on earth Doja Cat could want that after having a taste of “the good life” but obviously, that’s not enough for her, it looks like on some level Doja Cat is still extremely unhappy with the life she has and sometimes money is not the issue, sometimes there are deeper problems afoot. Whatever she ends up deciding, we wish Doja Cat the best.
