Shocking reports are emerging that a man had decided to make a false bomb threat in order to ensure that he could jump the queue for a Doja Cat concert in Indianapolis.

It is claimed that the incident happened at Monument Circle where the man was alleged to have stated that he was armed with a bomb. Naturally, it is not surprising to hear that the authorities got involved.

In response, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department intervened in order to get a handle over the situation. In an official statement on Twitter, a representative for the police confirmed that it was a false alarm.

The representative said: “IMPD officers responded, searched his bag and did not find an explosive. The man had unrelated outstanding warrants and was immediately arrested for those.”

Luckily, for everyone involved, it was completely made up. But prior to that happening, there was a lot of panic that something serious was going to go down.

After all, it has not been a very good time of late for concert-goers. We only have to look at the Astroworld incident in which a reported ten people died, as well as many others injured after safety protocols had not been followed.

But thankfully, the crowd acted accordingly. Deputy Chief Joshua Baker told the IndyStar the following: “Someone did the right thing and alerted IMPD. The backpack was clean.”

The response on social media was one of shock. A significant proportion of people could not believe that such an incident could happen, never mind the fact that it was done simply in order to go ahead of a queue.

And that was reflected in the comments that followed as people did not hold back on their words. One person on Twitter wrote: “Yep, the whackos are in Indy. In other words, business as usual,” while another person stated: “Damn, that’s crazy.”

This story has shown that anything can happen at a concert. With that in mind, it is safe to say that you should be vigilant at all times when it comes to going to an event with big crowds.
