A petition that demanded Kanye West be pulled out from performing at Coachella 2022 smashed its signature target with more than 25,000 people having signed it.
A Petition Demanding That Kanye West Be Removed From Coachella 2022 Has Exceeded 25,000-‘REPLACE HIM WITH DOJA CAT’
The petition initially had a target of 5,000 people, but the interest in seeing the rapper being canceled has only grown in light of the announcement by the Grammys that he was banned.
And things have not been helped by Kanye’s own actions when he decided to direct a racial slur against talk show host Trevor Noah, who just so happens to be presenting the Grammys. With that being said, it is clear that the petition has now moved on from its initial grievances.
The primary bone of contention by the petitioner, Caramello Marie, was her outrage at Kanye’s treatment towards Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. But that animosity towards the rapper has now been encompassed by a wide array of groups, who have just become fed up with Kanye in general.
This is highly significant, as it could have a detrimental impact on the rapper’s career going forward. It is no secret that his upcoming album ‘Donda 2’ will only be streamed exclusively on his new platform, Stem Player.
Therefore, by not having the backing of mainstream outlets, he will need the support of his fanbase to make this a success. And yet, this is dwindling by the minute in light of his behavior.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. People were behind the idea that Kanye needed to be removed from the festival, as a way to show the rapper that he had to be held accountable for his actions.
One person wrote: “Here’s an e-signature. make that 26,001,” while another person stated: “REPLACE HIM WITH DOJA CAT.” It is safe to say that Kanye is not the most popular person.
