‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers stars have taken to social media to share their heartbreak over the late Johnny Wactor, who played Brando Corbin on the show.
He was killed this weekend as three men tried to take the catalytic converter on Wactor’s car, and he was shot and fatally wounded.
New information reveals that Wactor had just finished a shift where he worked as a bartender, and as he was walking a female co-worker to her car, the men went to shoot, and he shielded her from harm.
He died a hero saving someone’s life. Wactor’s Port Charles family have many kind words about Wactor and his passing.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Wactor’s Onscreen Wife, Sofia Mattson, Is Gutted
The person whom he arguably shared the scenes with the most was Sofia Mattson, who played his wife, Sasha Corbin, on General Hospital:
“My heart is so utterly broken. Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard-working and humble. With a huge heart that spreads so much love, kindness, and joy. He always made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard, and loved. I admire the man he was so much, and I’m a better person for knowing him. We shared so many moments on and off screen, and I will forever cherish them deeply in my heart. You will be so incredibly missed, Johnny. I’m sure you’re already busy taking care of everyone up there.”
His onscreen Mom, Bonnie Burroughs, who played Gladys Corbin, said,
“I am heartbroken and sickened by this terrible loss. Johnny, I love you. My heart breaks for your real Mom and your whole family.”
Jon Lindstrom, who plays Kevin Collins, wrote,
“When the tears slow down, I am literally sick to my stomach at this news. Johnny was one of those rare young men in the business who was kind, unassuming, humble, and always thought about other people.”
Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos, exclaimed.
“What can I say about something so senseless? Johnny was the sweetest guy, coolest dude, and just a great soul. This is beyond words, and you will be missed, my friend.”
Aston Arbab, who played Wactor’s onscreen unofficial son, Dev Cerci, commented,
“Absolutely heartbroken while typing this. Johnny Wactor was not only my TV Dad for more than 25 episodes of General Hospital, but he was a great human, a kind soul, an inspiration, and a one-of-a-kind actor. May your soul rest in peace. Heaven gained an angel.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kirsten Storms Had Kind Words For Wactor’s Family
Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie Jones on GH, expressed her feelings,
“I’m in a state of disbelief and complete sadness. To Johnny Wactor’s mother and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Johnny was one of those “real individuals” that you almost never come across. I was fortunate enough to have some really good conversations with him where we discussed things I don’t typically open up about. For some reason, we talked about the deep stuff. He was a safe space for those conversations and, in turn, he would talk about his life. He genuinely cared about people and their journeys in life. During his time on GH, I witnessed him work hard and truly have respect for every single person in our building. I just cannot believe that his life was stolen from him the way it was.”
Lexi Ainsworth, who played the first Kristina Corinthos-Davis on GH, shared her thoughts,
“This is heartbreaking. When will it be enough for actual gun control to take place? He was such a great person.”
Chad Duell, who played Michael Corinthos, was furious,
“Some POS scum taking the life of someone who’s making something of themselves and an amazing person. So disgusting and infuriating. Don’t know what else to say. Just so wrong.”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Wactor Made An Impact On So Many Lives
Parry Shen, who plays Brad Cooper on GH, wrote,
“Johnny Wactor and I had never worked together during our time on GH. It was only until this past October that we got to know each other doing a multi-city event on the East Coast. Our flights both got in early, so we walked through Boston together for 5 hours, had dinner together, talked drink recipes (he was also a bartender extraordinaire). Shared our career and life stories. I was really excited to have a new person in my life that I instantly and effortlessly connected with.”
One fan summarized what we felt about the super couple, Brando and Sasha, and Wactor’s impact on the soap. They wrote on Sofia Mattson’s Instagram,
“I immediately thought of you when I heard the news and thought how is this woman going to get through mourning him again, only this time it’s not make believe. I am so sorry for your loss. Such a tragedy.”
Wactor’s death is a senseless tragedy and an evil act of murder. Hopefully, his killers are promptly caught and brought to justice.
