Cameron Mathison shares how the wildfires in LA have caused mass destruction and demolished countless homes in the Pacific Palisades, home to many celebrities and actors.

Others have been forced to evacuate their homes. It’s being called “the most destructive fire in the history of Los Angeles County.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Cameron Mathison Spoke With Good Morning America About The Devastating Loss Of His Home

‘General Hospital’ actor Cameron Mathison, who plays Drew Quartermaine on the soap, recently spoke to Good Morning America. He spoke about everything he lost in the fire, including his family home, which was horrifically demolished.

Cameron Mathison took videos chronicling the tragic events. He explained that while his family’s safety came first, he shared,

“I’ve lost my home and everything I own. I have this hoodie, a pair of pants, and two pairs of sneakers left. That’s it.”

He commented that while much of what he lost was replaceable, his family photo albums were left in ash among the rubble. The baby photos, pictures from his childhood, the kid’s school projects, and all his family’s memories were gone.

Mathison explained that while he was out to dinner, his phone blew up with messages about the fire.

Mathison returned to his house in the smoke and fire and packed a bag. He grabbed whatever he could. He managed to grab passports, birth certificates, and photo albums, but he had to leave the rest behind.

The news reported that the wind was fanning the flames, making the fires burn harder. As Mathison talked, his voice cracked, and he became too emotional to continue speaking.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Countless Celebrities Either Lost Their Homes Or Had To Evacuate

Several other celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Ana Faris, Ricki Lake, Adam Brody, Billy Crystal, Eugene Levy, Mandy Moore, John Goodman, Tina Knowles, Jennifer Grey, Candy Spelling, Melissa Rivers, Sir Anthony Hopkins, James Woods, Mark Hamill, and Maria Shriver, also lost their homes.

A few celebs who evacuated their homes include Mario Lopez, Kate Beckinsale, Molly Simms, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Jamie Lee Curtis was seen on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night, and at the time, she shared that her home was still standing. She’s also donating one million dollars for relief efforts to help those affected by the fires.

Paris Hilton was sitting with her family watching the news when she learned her home in Malibu had burned to the ground. She mentioned she was grateful that her family and pets evacuated safely.

Billy Crystal’s home was also destroyed after he had lived with his family for 46 years.

“We raised our children and our grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love,”

    He remarked.

“Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.”

Ricki Lake narrowly escaped from the house with only her dog, Dolly, in her arms and “not much else.”

Mandy Moore posted on social media,

“I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything, too.”

    She added,

“Our community is broken, but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected and those on the front lines trying to get this under control.”

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Governor Gavin Newsome Called Out By Trump

In the midst of all the tragedy and chaos of the fires and everyone evacuating their homes, many blame Governor Gavin Newsom for the wildfires. President-elect Donald Trump humorously called him “Gavin Newscum.”

Trump pointed the finger at Newsom, explaining that the Governor declined to sign a water restoration declaration. Trump said this restoration would have brought millions of gallons of water from the North. The water would flow daily into parts of California, including the areas most affected by the fires.

According to Trump, “Newsom wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt by giving it less water, but didn’t care about the people of California.” It was later disputed by experts that Trump’s claims were false.

Newsome was asked why the fire hydrants ran out of water, and he responded,

“Local folks are going to have to figure that out.”

Many are furious with the Governor for not providing the necessary resources to combat wildfires. Reports from California-based media outlets have slammed Newsom for neglecting to deliver on his promises to improve the state’s wildfire strategy.

As of now, the deadly wildfires remain primarily uncontained. As of Thursday afternoon, six people have died as a result of this disaster, and an untold significant number of people were injured.

We send our thoughts and prayers to those people affected by the fires, the families who have lost their homes, and the animals displaced.
