‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has become fixated on getting revenge on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), and it’s scary.
Granted, while we understand the initial compulsion to retaliate, Drew’s way of doing things is the most concerning.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Drew Took Carly Away From Bobbie’s
Drew knows that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is still reeling from the death of her mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman). She was already in a dark place the night that Nina landed at her door to bring her the news that she was the one responsible for her losing everything.
And, oh yeah, she was responsible for Drew serving a hellish six months in Pentonville. So we get it. But Drew’s obsession is dragging Carly down with him.
However, in signing the termination agreement, she sealed her fate. It’s just the idea that Drew may have gone through with firing staff at the magazine to force her to sign the contract.
Maybe he wouldn’t have done it, and perhaps he would have; we’ll never know. But the fact remains that Drew coerced Carly away from Bobbie’s and got her involved in his unhealthy vendetta against Nina.
In all fairness, Drew was almost beaten to death in prison and could have faced three years in jail had it not been for Carly’s intervention.
He has good reason to despise Nina but is being a jerk about it. Nina now has the ammunition to go after Carly for taking her job. She can steal all her staff back and make life a living hell for Carly and Drew.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Drew We Once Knew
Nina has already consulted Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) about starting her own magazine to compete with Crimson and getting her former employees back.
He said he wasn’t a magician but agreed to review the contract to find a loophole he could work around. It may not be much, but for Nina, it’s a good start.
Maybe Drew has a point that Nina should be dealt with, but he’s going off the deep end. Drew is determined to exact revenge upon Nina and has even threatened her with violence. That’s not the Drew we knew once upon a time.
Carly, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) are all worried about Drew’s mental health. And frankly, so are we.
Drew has also all but abandoned his daughter, Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante). He certainly didn’t seem to mind going to jail on Carly’s behalf.
Maybe Drew has PTSD from being beaten so badly, or perhaps part of this has to do with Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) brainwashing him with the tarot cards when he was presumed dead. Maybe he is getting little to no sleep and is delirious.
Either way, he needs to get a grip before he does something he may regret. Perhaps Drew needs a therapist to work things out. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) is always available if all else fails.
